The recent tragic events at Virginia Tech have given colleges and universities cause to look in-depth at how they can make use of new wireless technologies to enable rapid communication for emergency response and preparedness. The team at Rave Wireless has established a working group, Campus Safety Now, to organize FAQs for the higher education community. These FAQs will help the entire community learn about the wireless tools available - from the reliability of SMS to the use of GPS and location based services in safety. The working group will be led by non-profit advocacy group Security on Campus. Additional members of the working group will include industry associations, wireless carriers and educational software companies. Visit the website at: www.campussafetynow.com
