Simile shoes - When primitive man had to make his way over rocks, he discovered the need for covering his feet to protect them. So the first shoes, which were probably sandals, were mats of grass, strips of hide, or even flat pieces of wood. These were fastened to the soles of the feet by thongs that were then bound around the ankles. Of course, in colder regions, these sandals didn't protect the feet sufficiently, so more material was added and gradually the sandals developed into shoes.

Just so that everyone would know... absolutely, it is not a religious thing but my family and I don't eat any living things, my mom has 2 sisters, and all 3 of them including my mom started refusing carnivorism when they were teens way before I was born, we are all good amateur sailors and scuba divers and we know all about living nature, lakes, rivers and the Ocean... during the summer we are all into travelling on sail boats...
