A log of various projects that I am working on to retain my sanity while raising two kids.
Please note, I am not working on windturbines to save the planet. I work on wind turbines because they are an interesting technical challenge and can provide useful power to improve people's lives.

I was thinking along those lines of pivoting the wings too. I should be able to get back at it soon and try ideas like that out.

Here is a thought....Pivot the wings along the 30% cord line and articulate their pitch via springs and flyweights. Base angle can be setup for best torque lower speed and shallow out as the unit speeds up. At a desired speed a second flyweight set steepens pitch to maintain set speed.

Looks like you needed another layer of glass. In my opinion do the glasswork prior to assembly, weigh and balance each blade then assemble to base rotor. Glass each blade to the base and run pivot tube top to bottom to keep rotor torques from twisting the bases relative to one another. Make pivot tube larger ID than main shaft and bearing to the tube at top and bottom. I have a generator design that has the merit of a relatively flat load line vs speed and has both fidex field and armature winding, only moving part is a polepiece. The pole peice is alot more redily balanced and is less likely to disentigrate on an overspeed.

I remeber watching a show on the science channel they had a wind turbine, what they did was add a brake to it so it wouldnt spin as fast and rip its self apart
