BLUES EASE INTO QUARTERS
Linfield 5-1 Carrick Rangers
It was another 5 STAR performance from the champions! For the SECOND WEEK in a row smashing 5 GOALS past the opposition! Carrick were on the recieving end this week which went their Irish Cup dreams have ended. The game was fast moving and had CRACKER goals, everyone worked VERY HARD and put in a SOLID performance! We are now safely through and got the "pick of the bunch" draw against a championship side, Newbuildings or Coagh. But again NEVER underestimate! "Banana skins" teams! Look at Glentoran.. YOUTH CLUB ;) Lets just hope this 5 STAR GOAL RUSH continues at Ports AWAY on Saturday! ;)
Cheers!!
:D
A warm return to Irish Cup action this Saturday!
Linfield vs Carrick Rangers
The Irish Cup is BACK as The Blues host the Ambers at Windsor Park.
We will be going into the match on the back of possibly the BEST performance and scoreline of the season, that 5-0 THRASHING of Crusaders. We must focus on ourselves but at the same time never underestimate Carrick Rangers, SHOCKS in the Irish Cup is what the CUP is all about and no doubt the Carrick men will be looking for that. Jog the memory to the LAST ROUND when te YOUTH CLUB knocked out Glentoran!
SO we must approach the game like any other and hopefully make it into the DRAW for the next round!
COME ON YOU BLUES!
Cheers!!

FIVE STAR BLUES HAMMER 10 MAN CRUS!
Linfield 5-0 Crusaders
WHAT a way to BOUNCE BACK after the VERY disappointing defeat to Coleraine, its being called the BEST performace of the season! WHAT A GAME!
The lads performed FANTASTIC all over the pitch! We had DEFENDERS, MIDFIELDERS and STRIKERS ALL on the score sheet! I thought BIG Alan Blayney in NETS was OUTSTANDING, some fantastic saves! It was GAME SET AND MATCH before the hour with a COMFORTABLE 3-0 lead, and the rest was a bonus ;) SO a MAJOR 3 points with PLENTY of hard games coming up, Ports away for example.. BUT the league takes a BREAK and the Irish Cup returns.. Next Week.. Home to Carrick Rangers ;)
Cheers!!

BURNS TRICKS THE SWIFTS!
Linfield 3-0 Dungannon Swifts
MAN OF THE MATCH and HAT TRICK HERO Aaron Burns was the STAR of the SHOW on Saturday against Dungannon, the young lad was ALL over the show! AND on another day COULD and SHOULD have had a few more.. The fella just needs to work on the old celebrations ;) The WHOLE team worked well, passing and movement.. The only thing i wasnt sure about was Blayneys performance back after injury, some nervy moments but the big lad done well to keep a clean sheet! So another GREAT 3 POINTS and we NOW face Coleraine AWAY NEXT Tuesday night due to the Cup Final on Saturday which is on TV, Away to Coleraine is one of the BEST grounds for Atmosphere and passion so lets bring it! Ive had another BUSY few days fella, was at SNOW PATROL in The ODDESSY last night, it was WAS AMAZING! Was abit worse for ware staggering in after a good few drinks like ;) But was a cracker show!
Cheers!!

BLUES HIT 7 AND HAVE CARRICK IN SIGHT!
Linfield 7-1 Ballyclare Comrades
Well mate, Irish Cup days are UNEXPECTED and FULL of surprises! We made EASY work of Ballyclare after an early scare.. But the BIGGEST "shock", not only of the day, but in the HISTORY of the Irish Cup was a YOUTH CLUB beating Glentoran at the Oval to send them CRASHING out!
But we had our own job to do, focus on ourselves and the rest will sort itself! First half was scrappy and we needed to give ourselves a kick! When the COMRADES took the lead that was the call to put the gloves up and come out FIGHTING! We did just that.. Two goals from Phil Lowry, one from Pistol Pete and a PENALTY (YES! We got a penalty!) scored by Patterson put us in control at 4-1 at Half Time. In the 2nd half we improved and MORE goals from Pistol PETE for his 200th goal and 2 more from Rory to secure the HAT TRICK secured the win and a place in the next round! NEXT UP in the CUP - Carrick Rangers!
Cheers!!

Its been a MAD week with one thing after another, thats why the highlights have been delayed but EVERYTHING is sorted and things will be BACK to NORMAL!
Just a quick word on the Ballymena game, It was scrappy and on another day could have been so different.. Once we got the ball down and played football we were on top! And how DANGEROUS did the Ballymena BENCH look? Spike, Doc and Kelly! Deadly trio of Legends there pal ;) Looking towards the RETURN of the Irish Cup on Saturday against Ballyclare, we WILL go into it favourites.. But NEVER underestimate this team.. Remember the Winky Murphy LATE leveler in Ballyclare? We got out of jail that night and they will LIFT their game looking for an upset so we MUST stay STRONG and BATTLE to retain the FOREVER BLUE Irish Cup!
Cheers!!

PISTOL FIRES BLUES 5 CLEAR!
Linfield 2-0 Glenavon
WELL mate.. Its been a VERY BUSY few weeks for myself, thats why i havnt been on in a while!
Anyway! That was a FANTASTIC result yesterday, COULDNTh ave went much better! Glens LOSING.. Chickenville DRAWING and the Ports not playing, they play tomorrow agaisnt Crusaders.
So we took OUR chance and sit NICELY at the TOP of the LEAGUE by 5 points! The match was abit scrappy at times and we DIDNT play as well as we should have.. We got out of jail a few times! They had some great CHANCES and some.. juggling from Addis didnt help! But we worked hard and when WEE Aaron Burns came on, HE made the difference! It was a FANTASTIC finish from PISTOL Pete to put us ahead and then it was GREAT to see Rory off the bench and in a matter of minutes tucks one away! Overall GLAD to get the 3 points in a game.. On another day.. Couldnt have been so different!
Cheers!!

LINFIELD GIVE HAMILTON THE BLUES!
Linfield 1-0 Glenavon
Gary Hamiltons first game in charge of STRUGGLING Glenavon ending with the CHAMPIONS taking all 3 points in a TOUGH FOUGHT match.
It was a game which frustrated us, Hamiltons DEFENSIVE game plan proved well.. And FRUSTRATION showed with WINKY Murphy LUCKY to escape a 2nd yellow due to his DETERMINED challenge.
We missed a good LOT of chances, credit to Glenavon who had a few themselves and COULD have took somthing from us.. But we worked hard and McAllister SET UP wee Carvill to FIRE HOME and SECURE the points! The players looked RELIEVED when that went in due to the type of game it was.. SO another 3 POINTS secure! 5 points CLEAR.. And Gary would love me saying this.. 17 CLEAR of Glentoran ;)
Cheers!!
