This is vivid, frightening stuff. IMO, this and the closing music perfectly captures the mood of urban paranoia that exists the film. I don't think there's really any way to categorize this music - not jazz, not urban funk, just brilliant. It's every bit as unnerving now as it was 40 years ago.

Ocasek didn't produce this one - this was by Marty Thau. Ocasek produced their second album from 1980. Which I guess is fitting - he often declared himself their biggest fan & I think he was one of the few guys out there at the tiem who really got their music.

You know what? I don't think this is Queens. I know it's supposed to be Jackson Heights whichis in that boro, but in this scene you see a street named Hooper Street. If you look at it on a map, it's Brooklyn (Williamsburg, I think.)

The city's beauty summed up right here. This is really a great scene, I don't care what anyone else says. Funny, I was on 1st Ave on saturday while in the city, I could see the Queensboro & this scene immediately came to mind. Thanks, Woody. :)
