Budget Cuts in our Communities - Bridgeport
State Representatives Audin Grogins, David McCluskey, Chris Caruso, Andres Ayala, Don Clemons, Jack Hennessy, Tom Drew and Ezequiel Santiago held a news conference at the Bridgeport Bus Terminal to denounce Governors proposed rail and bus fare hikes.
Governor Rell has proposed a 10% rail fare increase and a 20%-40% bus and ADA fare increase as part of her biennial budget. These increases further add to the burdens faced during this recession by poor and working families across Connecticut who depend on bus and rail transportation, and will force some rail and bus commuters back onto already congested roads and highways.
