UCR's Chinese Student Association is a social and cultural club at the University of California, Riverside. This student organization not only promotes cultural awareness, but also provides a fun environment for students to interact with one another, make new friends, and become involved in the Riverside area. CSA stresses cultural and political awareness as Chinese Americans and provides a social outlet for the Asian American Community.
Our logo is the Chinese character "xin" which stands for heart. The theme that we have been promoting is "Two Worlds, One Heart." While the Chinese Student Association specifically recognizes the unique cultural heritage that we have as Chinese Americans, at the same time, it recognizes the unity within the heart that all Asian Americans possess.
Every year, CSA members practice year round for an event called Chinese Culture Night. Almost every cultural club on campus performs this to educate people about their culture. Although this event is voluntary, it is encouraged because members can also have a chance to learn about their roots if they don't know much about it already.
In addition to being a Chinese cultural organization, CSA is striving to be more of a multi-cultural club. CSA also has a hip-hop dance team called EVOLUTION. Evolution performs regularly at clubs and competitions such as ALL Cal, which is the biggest dance competition among the Southern California UC chinese club dance teams.
