About Me:

I am Italian and was born in a very beautiful place, in a small town at the top of a valley in the Italian Alps, in the region of Venice. I now live in the London area.
--------------------
I was in my mother's womb when my father emigrated to Australia. My early life was one of poverty, family separation, reunion and separation again, a struggle to survive. During that period, I learnt a lot on the fast-track course at the 'University of Life'. I believe that happiness is to be sought and found inside us.
--------------------
Writing has always been one of my passions. I wrote my first poems when I was thirteen years old. Other passions are flying (paragliding), dancing, astronomy and...too many to mention. I have many interests: I am curious and eager to learn. One of the main reasons why I studied languages was the desire to learn about other cultures by talking to people directly: this is also why I lived for relatively long periods of time in different countries.
--------------------
I always think that there are so many things to do and know, so many people to meet that one life is not enough. I would like to tell you a story - this really happened to me, and I wrote it down to remember next time I feel down:
--------------------
"One morning I was about to be bored, I felt it was coming. I was looking in a corner and saw a spider. Instead of killing it, I went closer and closer and I noticed details that I had never seen before. It was moving so beautifully, and the work it was doing to weave the web was amazing: who knows whether it was somehow aware that its life could be terminated any moment by an ignorant, stupid human like me (it survived). Then, I looked down, and I saw a tiny insect walking fast on the floor. Instead of crushing it with my foot, I crouched down and looked closer and saw that it had many tiny legs: I wanted to count them, but the insect was running too fast. I pushed it away so that it was facing the opposite way, but it turned immediately and walked towards me. I pushed it away several times, but it kept turning and walking towards me 'I wish I had your courage' I thought. My boredom never materialized that morning..."
--------------------
I believe that the world around us is incredibly fascinating and mysterious. And I believe that every person is an enigma, even to himself or herself. I strongly believe that none of us is ordinary. Nature took billions of years to make you: you are unique, you are amazing, you are a continuous discovery.
--------------------------------------------------
TWO OF MY FAVOURITE QUOTATIONS:

"We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing."
George Bernard Shaw

"No man is an island entire of itself...
any man's death diminishes me,
because I am involved in mankind.
And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."
John Donne

--------------------------------------------------
I was asked about the background picture on the top (mother with child): it is my sister and her daughter (my niece)

The Background picture on the right is an award to one of two main female protagonists of the novel Caile, signed by Field-Marshal, Supreme Allied Commander, Mediterranean Theatre, H.R. Alexander.

NB: You may have to increase the screen resolution of your computer to see the entire images and be able to read the document and synopsis.

In a town centre, in the Italian Alps, were the Headquarters of the German armies in Italy, headed by General Field Marshal Albert Kesselring; just above, in the forest, was their house, the Headquarters of the Resistance. In the last part of the war, they were wanted by the Nazis and the Fascists. They often had a narrow escape.

The stories of these two brave women and other heroes are narrated in the novel Caile. To know more about it, please use the link below:

Hometown:
Very beautiful small town in the Italian Alps, in the region of Venice
Country:
United Kingdom
Occupation:
I have just published the English version of my novel (Caile), published in Italy several years ago together with a book of poetry (Attimi). Internet link: http://www.caile.co.uk Presentations in my Uploaded Videos: CAILE and WOMEN'S BRAVERY
Schools:
First Degree MA Join Honours Spanish/Russian (Edinburgh University, Scotland, UK) -- Post Graduate Master Degree, MSc IT Multimedia Technology (Edinburgh Napier University, Scotland, UK)
Interests:
Music, reading, dancing, writing, astronomy... practising sports, such as walking in the mountains (especially of my home town), skiing, paragliding, swimming, playing football, cycling...
Movies:
I do not have a favourite. I like different genres, but never everything of one of them. I like to think that a performance is good when it takes us to a different dimension, and we forget where we are. If I had to choose just one artist, perhaps I would choose Charlie Chaplin.
Music:
Same as for films (see above)
