About this user
Charles Preston Bennett (born August 27 1993) A.K.A. "C.P. The Protégé", or "C.P." is a phenomenal, and multi-talented teen-aged entertainer. He was born, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Sheryl and William Bennett as the youngest child of three. At his young age he has developed the abilities to rap, sing, and dance that far surpass other musicians in his age bracket. C.P. says, "Being the youngest of my family always made me work harder to be at the same level of maturity and physical ability of my older siblings. Which I could never fully accomplish because they were so much older than me but in the end I feel like that made me more mature than other kids my age." By the time he was 5 years of age his parents had divorced and his father moved out of the house and though times were financially and emotionally stressful, Charles could always find strength in his love for dancing and through his older siblings.By the time he was in 2nd grade he memorized the lyrics of Outkast, Jay-Z, and Lil Bow Wow and performed them all around his house for family members and guests. C.P. recalls the first time he ever listened to Lil Bow Wow and says, "When I first heard his music I was completely in awe because I had never seen a kid rapping before in my life. I thought that it was completely impossible for anything like that to happen because I had always been told I was too young to do things that older people did." He believes that it was in that moment that he realized he wanted to be an entertainer.
When he was 8 years old he joined a non-profit organization by the name of Moving in the Spirit and learned many life lessons through the art form of Modern Dance. This is where he claims to have received his outstanding stage presence and his love for big crowds. Moving in the Spirit gave him the opportunity to go on 4 regional tours across the Southeast and even gave him the opportunity to assist in teaching the all male class that he first attended when he joined the program. Even though he was heavily involved in dance he never let go of his dream of becoming a rapper and by the time he was in 12 years of age he had won over 30 freestyle battles between other kids his age and in some cases even grown men.
By the time he reached 9th grade he began to make songs his computer and post them up on the internet, when asked about it he says, "I couldn't find any studios and I had no connections but I did what I had to because I needed to make the music, I wanted people to hear my voice and I wanted people to know that even though I was a teenager my lyrics could topple a grown man. I feel like I witnessed a lot kid rappers sell based only on their sex appeal and on none of their lyrical content and Ive always felt that I could be the one to change that." With the rest of his life ahead of him this young entertainer shows much promise as a rapper, singer, dancer and performer and with his burning passion for writing music and performing on stage nothing stands in his way. Watch out for young C.P. because when he debuts as an artist he will surely change the world.
