Founded in 1985, the Council of Canadians is Canada's largest citizens' organization, with members and chapters across the country. Nous travaillons à protéger l'indépendance du Canada en faisant la promotion de politiques progressistes sur le commerce équitable, l'eau potable, la sécurité énergétique, les soins de la santé publics et autres enjeux sociaux et économiques qui préoccupent les Canadiens.

The Ontario-Quebec office helps coordinate the work of our regional chapter activists, whether it's organizing speaking tours, days of action, or conferences and demonstrations. The Council frequently works with individuals and organizations across the region, country and around the world.

Nous mettons au point des campagnes originales afin de sensibiliser la population à certains des enjeux les plus importants. Nous travaillons avec un réseau de plus de 70 sections bénévoles afin d'organiser des tournées de conférenciers, des journées d'action, des conférences et des manifestations. Nous faisons en sorte que les gouvernements sachent quel genre de Canada nous voulons.

Our key campaigns in the region currently include: Fighting the privatization of health care; Banning the sale of bottled water in schools and other government buildings; Stopping uranium mining in Ontario; Pushing for a public debate on the secretive Ontario-Quebec trade pact, and; Fighting the Security and Prosperity Partnership, among others.
