The name Soulja comes from a family member who gave it to me, after I survived a metal pole blow to the head, after that incident, I was shot 3 times in the stomach area, what most people would have died from I survived. A few years later, the person who gave me my name, would be shot and murder in my city of New Orleans.

I kept the name Soulja as my stage name, cause I am what I am, but most of all to show respect to the one who gave me the name, rapping has been in me since a infant, I only developed through my older brother, who was once producer for Master P and No Limit Records. I watch him closely, and the older I grew, I developed and evolved from him. Years later I am the final product, of what my mother create, the streets influenced, and pain induced.

I describe by actually music as real music from the heart, some songs are real situations, and others are fantasies of where I wanna get or be, and there is no hating on that.

You don't have to like what I do, but I love what I do, if you have passion like I have passion then ride with me, if you don't the simple answer is this. I never needed you to ride with me in the first.
