About A view of the Blacksmith Craft

I am practicing blacksmith. I was introduced to the craft about ten years ago. I had worked on an assembly line for thirty years. A job of repetitive action without an opportunity for self -expression
or personal creativity.
Blacksmithing has opened a wonderous world of knowledge and friendships that has truly changed my life.
Learning to "move metal" and create sculpture as well as functional items is hard work. The ability to create and express one's self through the medium of iron has been a fulfilling journey.
Practicing and studying this ages old craft offers a look back at the development of man through time. A historical view of an amazing craft that provided so many services in improving the lives of all of mankind.
