CHAOS

In the middle of the chaos that is my life,
I wander through the wreckage of my past
Trying to reach a destination
That continuously eludes my every effort
To make sense of it all,
To find a peace of mind, of soul, and
A balance in my life.
But, I wonder, will I recognize it?
This uncertain future, this unknown happiness,
Something I have never known
But for brief moments
Here and there.
But, perhaps that is the mystery,
The great secret to it all.
Maybe we are only meant
To catch a glimpse now and then,
So we can appreciate
Those briefly shining moments
In the stark reality
Of our everyday lives.
