@lemonrind I didn't know that about the pre/block heaters being standard in Canada, however i always see options for auxilliary heaters in the software whilst interrogating cars with diagnostic tools and wondered where on earth has them lol !!

@SkeeveTiger Shitty honda engine ?? ok the 2.5 had problems but apart from some minor tappet troubles the 2.7 was a great engine and was very reliable indeed.

It doesnt sound like a 4 cyl at all !!, even the 2.3 wasnt very quick, these cars really needed the 2.8i lump from the capri or granada into them to bring them alive.without heavy tuning of the pinto anyway.

@nilsebuvatn I first encountered one of these in the E34 with no badges on it and jumped in thinking it was a 525 or something lol !! did I get a surprise :-D. I was looking for one of these about 3-4 years back in manual but then the fuel prices went up and up and.... lol

@chrisjsturner i seem to remember a company back in the 90s doing these in 3.1.-3.3 and 3.7 with the v6 and also doing what they called turnkey conversions with V8's for carltons, senators, jags etc I got sent a brochure thingy with what they could do which including gearboxes and adapter plates ...

I live in UK but it's great to see places like this, looks very frontier like and can imagine you need to be really self sufficient in winter.

@mazzoza19 You dont get the low down torque with 4 cyl engines and particularly turbo ones, this really shows when going up hills in a high gear, plus generally v8's are a lot more unstressed as they dont need to be worked so hard and last longer as a rule.
