About this user
Hoigh. Dia duit. (Irish Gaelic for, "Hello, how do you do?)
I'm Rúadhán (Pronounced, 'Roo-Awn' and Irish name to mean 'red haired' )
I am a practitioner of Druidry but that tells only half the story so to speak as I would also say I'm a Pretanic shaman. I'm also easily as comfortable describing myself as a British/Celtic shaman, therefore solitary in my practices as this is the original way of all strands of paganism, preferring to 'plough my own furrow' so to speak. I do like meeting, conversing with others regardless of their own path as this is a wonderfully enriching way to learn also.
I live in England on the south coast and my beliefs and practices are drawn from Celtic (British, Irish and Welsh) lore. Although my heritage is mainly English and of which I am proud, I have always had a srtong pull towards the Irish side of my family. I believe the ancient British culture was very similar to that of the Irish.
A vast amount has been written regarding the Welsh and Irish Celts and their culture/s but far less so of the Britons that populated the land prior to the arrival of the Romans and later Germanic tribes subequently becoming England. I endeavour to research as much as I can on the Britons east of and south of present day Wales and Scotland respectively. These people/s were also known as, Pretani/Priteni or, 'painted' people'.
The Arthurian tales are also a massive and deep love of mine.
