BIOGRAPHY:
Buju was born MARK ANTHONY MYRIE, on July 15, 1973, in an area called Salt Lane, a poor section of Kingston, Jamaica. He's the youngest of fifteen children born into a family who are direct descendants of the Maroons, escaped formerly enslaved Africans who fought so fiercely that the British signed a treaty w/ them in 1739, granting them semi-autonomy in Jamaica unto today.

CAREER:
Since 1992, Buju has been blazing up the Reggae & World Music record charts. His Discography consists of nine (9) studio albums, repackaged and remastered albums & an Ultimate Collection album.

STAMINA DADDY was the debut album by Buju, released in Jamaica (JA) only during 1992.

MR MENTION was Buju's 2ND album, released 1992. When Buju signed w/ Mercury Records in 1993, Poly Gram purchased the rights to the album & June 8, 1993, re-released it through Mercury's independently distributed Fader Records imprinted w/ three fewer tracks & an "explicit-lyrics" sticker affixed to the album cover. `TIL SHILOH was Buju's 4TH album. It was released July 18, 1995 on Loose Cannon Records, a short-lived subsidary of Island Records. It was also re-released in 2002. The 1995 release was his international breakthrough & marked a turn towards more serious themes in his lyrics which had previously focused on slack themes like sex & violence. Many songs on this album explored Buju's then newfound faith in Rastafari. This could be seen as a transition from "rudebwoy" style of Dancehall to more Roots Reggae style. Track Listing is:
