About Me:

ALEXANDER BUI was born in America in 1993. His mother and father emigrated to the United States, bringing with them their rich Vietnamese culture.
Alexander Bui began his piano studies at age four years with his mother, a graduate of the Vietnamese Conservatory. At an early age he displayed a remarkable aptitude for the piano and performed frequently for admiring audiences. Alexander continued to develop his musical skills under his mother's exacting direction. He auditioned for Edward R. Nelson, recognized pianist, composer, and noted educator, who accepted him as a student in the year 2009.
His father, recognizing his promising talent was most supportive and encouraging. He continues to assist in his son's musical development in every way possible.

Under Mr. Nelson's tutelage, Alexander Bui has made remarkable progress, both musically and technically. At present, his repertoire is comprehensive, including all periods of music: baroque to contemporary. Alexander Bui performed in a series of master classes with concert pianist Alexander Shtarkman at the Peabody Conservatory of Music, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore Maryland, while continuing his intensive piano and theory studies with
Edward R. Nelson. In 2012, he had master classes with international renowned concert pianist
Ana Maria Trenchi Bottazzi in New York City, New York.

In August 2010, Alexander Bui was selected from thousands of YouTube auditioners to perform on the nationally broadcast NBC series "America's Got Talent", where he was presented as "Maestro Alexander Bui." He performed for millions of delighted viewers several times and received rave reviews for his performances from the panel of celebrity judges, Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, and Howie Mandel.
While he was appearing on "America's Got Talent", the judges were very complimentary of his playing immediately after his performance. Piers Morgan, the judge who was recently chosen to replace Larry King on CNN said, "... without a doubt, he was the most naturally talented person we've had all year. This show is called 'America's Got Talent' and in terms of dedication, in terms of excellence in what you do, in terms of raising the bar away from the enormous stuff we've seen, you're one of the most brilliant performers we've had." Another judge, Howie Mandel, said, "It's amazing the ability you have." The third celebrity judge, Sharon Osbourne stated, "A magnificent pianist, who sounded beautiful. You played brilliantly. It was very, very exciting. I enjoyed your playing."

The eighteen year old virtuoso is a senior at Egg Harbor Township High School, Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, where he participates in the music program and is an honor student.
Most recently, Alexander Bui was a prize winner in the Esther C. Weill Music Competition for high school students of Atlantic and Cape May Counties in New Jersey. As a result, he gave two performances of the First Movement of the Piano Concerto in A Minor by Robert Schumann for enthusiastic audiences at Ocean City Music Pier, Ocean City, New Jersey on August 9th and 10th 2011. Alexander Bui so impressed the Conductor of the Orchestra, Bill Schieble, with his soulful renditions of the Schumann Concerto that he was immediately asked to return for additional performances next season.
Music critic, Ed Wismer, who reviewed the concert for the "Sentinel" publication, Ocean City, New Jersey, said, "A very young Alexander Bui startled all with his playing of the First Movement of Robert Schumann's 'Piano Concerto in A Minor'. He made the Steinway sing. He is another great Pops find."

Upon graduation from High School, Alexander Bui is planning to continue his studies at one of the outstanding music conservatories in the United States.
