That confession there is what is called repentance, or a change of mind about sin that produces action. The goodness of God produces it. It says in Romans 2:4 that : " Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?"
