Bucky Walters was born April 3, 1953 and attended Wichita State University in Wichita, KS. It was there his illustrious show business career began, with the formation of a musical group he formed in 1957 called The Premiers. As one of the first rock-and-roll bands in Wichita, The Premiers gained instant notoriety playing at local clubs and sock hops.

Walters moved on and embarked on a solo comedic career in Wichita, KS, with annual appearances in Comedia, a roast of Wichita news headlines directed by Wichitas grande dame of theatre, Mary Jane Teall, and performed at Wichita Community Theater. In 1988, he hosted the The Bucky Walters Show on KNSS radio.
