Originally Bryson N.Y.A. (1971-1977) was formed and merges with a formed group of the late Wayne Rossiter friends a number whom were Bryson's that just wanted to parade in his memory. In 1977 Mrs. Rossiter asked not to use her son name any more because it brought back memories. For the 1977 parade Joseph "Pop" Bryson Teamed up with the group to form the Bryson N.Y.B. So Pop Bryson name Brigade after himself and his father. The Bryson Brigade was establish in 1977. We are a family of four generations, Pop Bryson is the Captain. Pop Bryson march in the mummer parade along with his family and friends on New Years Day. Bryson New Year Brigade, a club for male family members, friends, and relatives to go out and have a good time parading together in a safe environment. By the mid 1980's things started to change and a new tradition were formed, father were not only taking their son parading but they were taking their daughter too. Thus we became a family Brigade. After years of not making TV, finishing low in the rankings and barely getting mentioned by media things have changed with adapting to the times we have placed in top 5 every since 19994 with two of theme being first place1997 and 2003
