A few years ago I looked in the mirror and didn't like what I saw. I had a belly and love handles. I wondered why I was getting fat when I was eating what I thought was a healthy diet and I worked out several times a week. I went to a professional who told me that I needed to reduce my calories (further) and exercise (more) in order to lose weight. It didn't work work for me. This is the same advice that most people get and unfortunately it doesn't work for them either. Fuel in (food) equals energy out (exercise) works fine for your car, but the human body is far more complex. More important than the amount of fuel is the type of fuel. A calorie isn't just a calorie. The Bryan Marcel lifestyle is about being healthy. I challange conventional wisdom with medical facts. The premise is simple: Eat a diet that consists mostly of vegetables, fruit, meat and other whole foods for optimal health. Avoid processed foods and the added sugars, sweeteners and chemicals that they contain. Keep it simple. If you read the ingredient labels on food that you buy you will be well on your way to a healthy diet (hint: the foods that I prefer do not have ingredient labels). Remember: If you can't pronounce all of the ingredients in your food or you don't know what they are, then don't eat it. Most processed food manufacturers and restaurants have the same two goals. 1) To make their food as cheaply as possible (low quality), and 2) Convince you that you don't (advertising and package health claims). My viewers are too smart to fall for that. You have to be responsible for you. Take charge. Empower yourself. Knowledge truely is power.
