I like your channel. Even teachers don't like what the Department Of Education is mandating that they do. Multiple choice questions kill analytical thinking.

Thank you for a refreshing perspective. In the last few hours I have read a lot of your sight and it is rocking my world in a good way. Postmodernists are sophists...seriously, for someone of my generation the whole ultimate relativity thing is pretty hard to overcome. Not saying my mind is totally changed in a few hours, but you gave me a different viewpoint that is NOT religious. Perhaps complete relativism has been so successful because those who challenge it always invoke God, whereas you invoke man.

Well, definitely a different take than Dewey's on education. I admit to being a little conflicted on the education issue. I think the problem is finding a middle ground. I know Dewey was a socialist at heart, but don't equate that with communism and really its beside the point. I think a concern that could be taken legitimately from Dewey is the concern that old fashionsed teaching does not teach children to think....on the other hand, I was taught pretty traditionally and I still think for myself...I think at one time or another I have questioned every value I was raised with. Not saying I rejected them all. At any rate, the main question is, does traditional education with all its facts and memorization stop people from thinking for themselves?

Is memorizing the same as Sight words? I like your input.

I agree with learning the alphabet and the sounds, my 4 year old tries to read every thing and most time he's getting it with out even doing sight words.

This channel explains it all! Indeed we have a problem that seems insurmountable because the educRATS are in the drivers seat, however, if parents and teachers would join together and call these people out, you would see how they would scramble. The key people to fire are the "Curriculum Directors" and "Reading Specialists" in the district office. Fire them and then find curriculum that works! Parents MUST get involved. The homeschoolers are going to take over the world because they use GOOD CURRICULUM at home, they don't waste time with stuff that is not logical and doesn't work. These kids are walking into Colleges and finding that their peers are DUMB (of course not intrinsically but academically). Parents GET involved and speak up, you have a voice and your kids count. Don't be held hostage by these "Know It All" Experts. They are "EXPERTS" in failure.
