Even most republicans now realize that she is an empty skirt. Only the hardcore koolaid drinkers will support her in 2012 while the more pragmatic and intelligent repubs will go for Romney, Pawlenty or Jindal.

Of course, if Obama is doing well and looks for for reelection in '12, the repub establishment will gladly put Failin up as that year's sacrificial lamb.

It's going to be fun to watch her continue to try to make herself into a star and fail miserably at it. If she's the future of the republican party, the democrats can prepare for many more victory parties ahead.

Attacking the media is the only leg the far rightwing nuts have to stand on now. They've been such dismal failures at every issue of substance in the past decade that they can only rely on tired old chestnuts like The Culture Wars and Media Bashing. That garbage may have worked back when America enjoyed relative peace and prosperity. But for a nation mired in two wars, a diminished standing in the world and teetering on the brink of economic collapse, the public now demands more substance and thoughtfulness from their politicians. The Religious Right has never been and will never be able to deliver on such needs. They are the stuff of so much intellectual fluff and self-righteous frothing. Sarah Palin is the perfect representative for these has-beens: A vapid, vile, divisive and substance-free message spewed forth from an attractive package designed to distract the rubes from realizing that they are being hoodwinked into voting against their own interests with meaningless hot-button issues. She may appeal to the 20-25% of dead-ender culture warriors left in the tinfoil-hat rightwing fringe, but shell never be able to gain the respect and votes of the Republican moderates and Independents that shed need to have a serious run at the White House. Like Fred Thompson, Dan Quayle and Rudy Giuliani, she will find that name recognition alone cannot pave ones way to the nomination. In 2012, shell be steamrolled by Super Tuesday, if she even makes it that far. She stands a far better chance of being a star on Faux News than she stands of ever holding another elected office or coming within fifth place of the Republican Presidential Nomination.

Actually, as oil prices slide, so do Sarah's ratings in Alaska. Seems that she's only "popular" when she's overseeing the SOCIALIST reditribution of wealth where each citizen receives a yearly Stipend from the oil companies simply for remaining there and converting oxygen to carbon dioxide. It doesn't get any more SOCIALIST than that, but Sarahcuda doesn't seem to mind, so long as it helps keep her in power and designer duds.
