The dog was running to find her owner, the second girl to leave. If you watch the bottom right hand of the screen you can see Sophie's back and tail as she follows her owner out the building.

The dog is Sophie and she is actually taking off to find her owner, the second girl out the door. She did a lap around the room until she found her and stayed right behind her as they left the building. She can also be seen running behind her out the door in the stairwell video.
