About this user

Brent Barnett is a musician, preacher and writer, who loves God, young people, music and pizza. Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, he's the youngest of two children, born to Randy and Michele Barnett. A lifelong artist, Brent began writing and performing music and poetry seriously around the Louisville area at the age 17. He found an artistic home at the West Louisville institution Expressions of You Coffeehouse, and was mentored by Expressions' owner, James Linton. From 2005 to 2007, Brent released six small "chapter books" of poetry through Black Butterfly Press, a small publishing company he started in 2005 with his parents. Brent started college at Eastern Kentucky University and is on track to graduate from EKU in December of 2010, with a degree in English Literature. During his Freshman year, he founded the band The City Limits. From 2006 to 2009, The City Limits built a strong fanbase, releasing one CD, 2007's Connected. The City Limits were blessed to carry on in ministry during those 3 years, ministering primarily to young people and college students, developing a strong relationship with Intervarsity Christian Fellowship while ministering at some of their regional conferences. In 2009, The City Limits surrendered to God's call and parted ways to persue other projects and ministries.
Brent continues in ministry, preaching and singing, while working with the Youth Ministry at Consolidated Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky. Currently, Brent is working with producer Doug Ford to craft his solo debut album, The White Flag. Brent is also working on a book about youth ministry and other writing projects. For this season in ministry, Brent is eager to see what God has in store and is excited for the world to see God working.

A dynamic speaker and passionate musician, Brent is a great choice to lead special youth events, conferences or retreats.
