THE MUCKRAKES have a massive amount of musical influences. There's a lot of Americana, bluegrass, country, blues, jazz, old-time gospel mixed with the flair of rock and a wisp of the arrogance that's rock. The band combines both modern and traditional, yet roots itself in the best of everything that came before. The band prides itself on reaching all types of music lovin' audiences, incorporating standard to unusual to original tunes swaggering back & forth from styles but managing to stay loyal to their roots.

Although The Muckrakes can be as traditional sounding as any pioneering band, their repertoire is extremely varied, laced with Alt-Americana, blues and folk compositions and songs from gospel to rock. Their dirty south mentality that's based on the "here and now" yet makes for creating a sound that looks forward and backwards at the same time. The Muckrakes is comprised of well-seasoned musicians that effectively innovate modern acoustic music by marrying the traditional influences of various genres.
