About Me:

I was born in Trollhättan, Sweden a warm evening in July, 1952. The first sound that reached my ears was the tones of an orchestra that was playing outside in the park. The music has since then come to be my true companion.
As a little boy, lacking real instruments, I placed rubber bands around chairs and played. Later on it was music lessons and orchestra. But my big secret was that I during my childhood and adolescence played conductor. I went into my room, locked the door, turned out the light, put music on and pretended that I conducted "my" orchestra.
I don't know how I would have survived my teens without the music. I was listening always, never missed a hit list or any other music programme. I chose to stay home to listen to music and record it on my tape recorder, instead of going out with my friends.

School gave me a hard time which I struggled myself through. My father wanted me to have a solid education, preferably economy, and put me in a commercial school. It became a total disaster! Money was never my strong point. Artistry and mammon somehow doesn't seem to match.
Later on I tried to serve in working life. I had many different jobs of different kinds and I did my best to adjust. This led to big conflicts and deep crises. I drew the conclusion that I didn't function in the "common" working life. I couldn't stand mendacity and social conventions, and I felt that nothing in this world was true. The only time that I function in this world is when I am able to express myself creatively, which I besides the music also have done in the visual arts and in literature. At that time in my search, I'm on my way.

Music is the language of the soul. What I express in my music (Calmestrand) is what I have inside of me, deep in my soul that no words can express. The music can be described as Ambient-Electronica even if it is hard to categorize it. Many people experience the music as visual, since they see inner pictures when they are listening to it. The important thing however is not what the music is called or whether I use synths, guitars or other instruments. The important thing is that the tones become "food for the soul". Honesty and simplicity are my primary guiding-stars, and with this attitude I attain the essential part in the music, which makes it possible for me to easier work over, understand and leave that which I no longer feel is true in life. This process, in which the music is a catalyst, is spiritual, intellectual, emotional and physical. I hope that my music will have a therapeutical meaning for other people as well.
I have no control of the process of creation. It's when I sit down in the chair in my studio that everything happens. It feels like the music is already there, complete. My job is to transform it down to Earth. That´s why the music is that honest. I never have time to involve my ego.

My first two albums, "Leaving" (2000) and "Homeless" (2001), express the inner but also the outer process which I was in long before I started doing music and which in principle was lying there waiting, in all my life.
My third album "After The Huntingseason" (2003), has maybe a more airy, lighter expression, because much of my dammed up life crises found expression in the two first albums.

I have material for at least two more albums in my studio-computers, ready to be further processed and mastered, but in order to prepare a CD-production I first need to get in contact with both a studio collaborator and a new label/publisher.
