Hi Amanda -- You're both a superb bookbinder and a great tour guide through the world of fine bookbinding. Your videos are tremendously informative because you take the time (and have the talent) to explain carefully this intensely creative and often difficult process. Recently I bought a typeholder, English stove, a set of letters and assorted small tools, and now, thanks to you, I'm ready to begin applying your lessons to my own books. Although I've done limited bookbinding for many years -- and paid others to apply lettering to my covers and spines -- I had no idea of how to take the next steps until I started watching your videos. So heartiest thanks!!!!!!

hi amanda I am a fan of yours. You truly inspired me into taking up bookbinding more seriously. I wonder if you offer courses or would consider it. Please let me know a.s.a.p.

Hello Amanda. It is always curious knowing the preferences of other bookbinders. Where it seems you are more comfortable using the typeholder ; for general binding I would tend use the JT Marshall Blocking Press with which I am more familiar. I agree with your comments on the ' mechanical feel ' of some blocking. One should always hand tool for antiquarian work - it is generally accepted as a standard conservation practice.

Hello Amanda. Traditional skills will always hold a fascination with society at large; helping us to maintain a cultural link with the past. Perhaps, that is one of the reasons why people are interested in what you do.
Long may the interest continue. All the best.

I love your videos they are very useful for my bookbinding projects. I am wondering, would you post a video about gluing? Particularly about once you've sewn the book together and you want to attach the boards, what is a good method for gluing the frayed bands onto the boards also, what is a good method for gluing the leather onto the boards? Thank you for all your videos

Hello Amanda

I wonder if you would post a video about reattaching the boards on a leather bond book? I have a few that I would to restore, ( after some practice).
