Little did Cuthbert and Ida Gubbman know, on 12th December 19__ (Bongleburt does not like to reveal his age, due to personal reasons) that their newborn baby boy was to be the greatest, most powerful, most successful singer the world has ever known.

Graham Gubbman, as he was christened, began singing while having a bath one cold October evening, when he was but 9 years of age. Sensing that her son, and only child, had vast and immeasurable talent, Ida immediately called her friends and acquaintances round to their small flat on the now demolished Peachtree Meadow council estate in Muckton Dodbury, England, to hear her son sing.

Despite some initial embarrassment at having numerous strangers staring at him while he was in the bath, young Graham proved to be a "hit" and never looked back. After growing up, going to university and obtaining 16 degrees, he decided to break into the professional music world which, obviously, was not hard to do for such a divinely talented young man.

At one of his early concerts, a small elderly man hobbled over to Graham and advised him to change his name, as 'Graham Gubbman' was in fact the name of a very well-known nostril surgeon on Harley Street. Sensing immediately that the elderly fellow's words of wisdom were indeed wise words, he dropped his dull moniker in exchange for the fantastically flamboyant "Bongleburt Doppelganger," by which he has been known ever since (apart from a brief period in 1978 when he experimented with the name "Horace Stilton," which proved most unpopular).

In 1969, news of this outrageously talented star spread to the British news media and Bongleburt soon found himself appearing week after week on 'Top of The Pops.' His song 'From The Heart', which he relentlessly sung week after week, proved to be his ticket to supreme success, as it was immediately adored by untold millions of viewers and listeners. In the space of a few days, Bongleburt Doppelganger had become a household name and his LP records were selling like 'hot cakes' across Great Britain.

Other fantastic songs such as 'Wishing I Could Kiss You Now', 'Loving You Forever In A Moment' and the truly unforgettable 'Midnight Madness' firmly established Bongleburt's everlasting fame and glory. Soon, these smash hits spread to the USA and Canada, and later to almost every other nation of the world, with the exception of northern Sweden, and Bongleburt found himself touring the world, singing night after night to millions and billions of fans who just couldn't get enough of the true 'King of Romance'!

For some reason which he has never been able to understand, Bongleburt's popularity and success in the West faded after several years and he found himself devoting much of his time and talent to his billions of fans across the continent of Asia, particularly in Singapore and Thailand. Indeed, his eighth wife was a Thai. Throughout the 1970s and 80s, Bongleburt Doppelganger's multitudinous array of singles and albums were best sellers across all of Asia and much of Eastern Europe. So great was his fame that a plastic 'Bongleburt' doll was released in 1985 and sold out within thirty-four minutes.

In the late 1980s, Bongleburt decided to take a break from the world of showbusiness and devote his time between his three greatest hobbies: pottery, mountain climbing, and crossword/wordsearch magazines.

In 1992 he returned with a powerful and award-winning new album, 'Hot Treacle' which included his stunningly beautiful renditions of songs made famous by other artists, including 'Moon River', 'Cuddle Up A Little Closer', 'Gifts of Bread And Wine' and 'Please Release Me.' But the best part of this album was a song written by Bongleburt himself, titled 'Hot Treacle.' Since then, the greatest singer of all time has been steadily releasing a new album almost every year. In August 2008 he began his 'Ultimate Comeback Tour', appearing as a hallowed guest on chat shows across the globe, most notably on Agatha Crumblefoot's 'Afternoon With Agatha' on BBC12, where he promoted his new 'Love Songs' CD.

Bongleburt Doppelganger...who can describe this multi-talented man? His heavenly voice has moved millions to tears, his music has stirred the souls of lovers everywhere, he has more fan clubs dedicated to him than any other person in the whole history of the world. In short, Bongleburt Doppelganger is nothing less than a living legend.

He currently divides his time between his homes in Hollywood, Paris, New York and Stinkleton.
