About this user
The Body as a Site of Discrimination is an online journal- a collaborative project of two Masters of Social Work students at San Francisco State University (SFSU) with support from a 3-person panel representing both social work and community voices. The call for submissions asked contributors to explore the following body-based oppressions, as well as their individual interpretations of the theme:
Disability and Ableism
Fatphobia or Size Discrimination
Ageism
Racism
Gender Discrimination—transphobia, non-conforming gender identities, sexual assault, sexism, and reproductive rights
The call for submissions allowed contributors to have the freedom to express themselves in the medium of their choice. The diversity of contributions includes poetry, videos, paintings, personal narratives, and research articles. There is something to gain for everybody.
