Brough back memories of when I went through in early 1970, suprisingly it appears not to of changed that much.

I was kind of irritated by the cussing and I spent 23 yrs in the service 4 yrs

Air Force 19 yrs Navy with 5 of those yrs with the Marines........Maybe I have virgin ears

I remember watching a broadcast from the Constitution many years ago during a turn-a-round. Detachments of Marines and sailors in whites where standing at attention during Evening Colors when one of the sailor's cell phone rang and he answered it. I would never of done that during my 23 years

Navy style racks in a Marine barracks. All my 23 years as a HM many of them FMF, I never saw a Navy style rack off a ship

Twenty three years ago tonight I took my uniform off after twenty three years of service and after all that time I still get a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye when I hear this song

Graduated High School in 64 and a lot of guys were in the Navy Reserves and wore their uniforms at graduation. At the time I was one of those type of guys who made the Spider Man comment. But guess what? I joined myself and did 23 yrs in 2 different services, 4 yrs in the Air Force then retired...

First, I agree wtih most comments about the wearing of the uniform, but I hate the use of the "N" word in most of these comments from a US Navy Corpsman (retired)

I was stationed at was then the Naval Air Station Miramar (now it's a Marine Corps Air Station) in the early 70s and lived off base not far from the park. I traveled to the NAS daily along that highway, and was at the park almost every weekend. I loved it.
