@dramame You're right, the ball went into the easy side of the pocket. If the pockets are 4.4 inches wide (which they are on that table, and the cue ball was six inches from the other corner pocket and on a line from the center of the pocket to the object ball which was on the spot, what was the ...

@dramame I'm not sure what you mean by "off center" but the ball went more or less to the middle of the pocket and the ball is round and the table is level.

@hubertandclyde The problem is that the shot can be made as I described. The only "gaff" to the extent that there is one, is that the balls need to be dirty so that the friction is high enough. I didn't believe that the shot was possible until I started experimented with it. I have gotten cuts to...

@kevsta12 Not that helps the shot. Actually the cue ball is curving away from the object ball, increasing the needed cut angle.

@aardvaark069 I don't think so. That is an 11mm shaft with no ferrule. Since I'm playing the shot with more side than is ever used in normal pool, a high-squirt shaft would make the aiming much tougher.

@houstexman29 If you are playing bank pool the alternatives would be to bank the ball to some other pocket or play safe. In any case, the shot is more of a proposition shot since it is rare that the position comes up in a normal game. The object ball has to be a certain distance from the side poc...

@Syncness Actually, the shot was played without side spin on the cue ball. You cannot "stiff" the ball enough with spin to get out of the kiss with that position.

@stiven86 That's because with a very tight rack, like you're now seeing in a lot of international tournaments, the nine ball doesn't move. On a home table or a pool hall table with dented cloth, you will almost never get a rack as tight as that.
