Not many musicians, in the arena of hip-hop or otherwise, can realistically state that their experimentation has transformed the musical landscape. But, then, every musician is trying to do it. "Although we are from the streets of Detroit, I try to make music that will have a universal appeal. It has always been my intent to make music for the world. An idealistic dream to change the world by affecting them with music."   Damian Durrell also known as Blunt Technics or Blunt Tec provided the production to a sharp new grimey sound as well as his fresh approach to infectiously creative beats which are sharply enigmatic and beastie. "We literally launched ourselves from right off of the couch and into the spotlight."     "Teaming-up with Detroits best undiscovered Mid-West Rude-Boy, Blunt Tec; who brings us that sound that has never been heard; puts us at the top of the game" says Stone the large and in charge rapper from Detroit's west side and out-spoken member of 17x4 Hood Soldiers. The Blunt Tec sound is a straight-to-the-neck style that combines incredible mind-altering rhythms and changes, mixing with Detroit street elemental dark bass-lines that has never been brought to the main stream music listeners ear. On the contrary, Blunt Tec's platinum-infused voice and razor sharp spit; cohesively meshes together. The result is a dynamic duo of unmatched proportions that puts these 17x4 Hood Soldiers in position to be the new generation's Dre' & Eazy, Chuck D & Flavor Flav, or Run-Dmc. "Blunt Technics is the Catalyst." Proclaims Detroits-own son: Lyrix formerly of The Bio-Kemists, "meaning he is the key to bringing all of the elements of a track, a rhyme and an idea together to make viable and musically correct". Back in the early 90's you could find Lyrix and Technics at The Shop, Alvins, The Shell, Cafe Mahogany, or any other underground hip hop event. The same catz that used to entertain the crowd with a magical free-style cypher before any show at "The Shell". Lyrix, today can be found at "Da Blunt Sto"; the studio in which Blunt Tec currently resides. Having completed masterpiece collaborations with heavy hitters in the Detroit rap game, such as; Guilty Simpson and Dogmatic just to name a few; as well as writing new music for a second album for his Michigan-based band DirtyBunny; a hard mix of rock-n-roll and Electronica, which Tec calls "Erocktronika". The band have made several recordings in Hollywood, Ca. and are currently under development with direction by rock-n-roll legend Mic Fleetwood. "As for the rest, we keep it on the low until we blow" adds Tec. Blunt Technics takes the listener on a fantastic journey through the sound spectrum, revealing true rhythm and flourishing melodies. Complete with wild sound-shapes, perfectly balanced and colorfully entertaining music reminiscent of that old-school underground hip hop swagger.   Now Technics is preparing for the next chapter; the next plat rapper. But for now he remains an urban legend. And Tec quotes "Peace to hip hop and those who have done it, do it or listen to it, I do it for the love..."
