The Water is Wide - Guitar & Vocal Bluegrass... - 2,801 views - 2 months ago
O.k. This is my very first solo, ever . . .

The Water is Wide, I can't cross ore
and neither have I wings to fly
Give me a boat that will carry two
and both will row, my love and I . . .

Oh, love is handsome, and love is kind
the sweetest flower, when first it is new
but love grows old and waxes cold
and fades away like morning dew . . . .

The Water is Wide - Instrumental Bluegrass... - 1,999 views - 2 months ago
I first heard this song when I was visiting my friends in Utah, Hannah and Sarah, and they played the piano and sang it for me. They inspired me to learn it. I found Mark Hanson, James Taylor and tonedr (Dale) playing it on youtube and I took a little of all three of their versions and added them together. Thanks tonedr (Dale) for helping me add a finishing touch to this song.

This is my instrumental version in the key of E flat. I love the sound of this key on the guitar. I am posting another vocal version in the key of G. G because my voice is in this range.

This song is dedicated to all of my youtube friends. Thanks so much everyone for your support!

I Still Can't Say Goodbye - Chet Atkins - Fingerstyle Bluegrass... - 13,197 views - 1 year ago
This piece was written by songwriters Bob Blinn & Jimmy Moore. It was performed by Chet Atkins during 1987 in memory of his father. This is my own arrangement of this tune. This song really reminds us, just how important a father is to his family. I hope you all enjoy listening to it.

About Me: Howdy! Thanks for visiting my channel! I go by Bluegrassforte, Blue or Gretsch'n. I just turned 13 yrs old in October, 2008. I love Old Western, Bluegrass, Fingerstyle Guitar (Chet Atkins rules!), Folk, Gospel and Ragtime music. I love playing the guitar the very best of all instruments then the Fiddle, Mandolin, Banjo and Piano. I have been playing at local recitals and events. I also perform with a group called The Bar G Wranglers. We perform songs that reflect the Old West such as, Ghost Riders in the Sky, Cool Water, Timber Trail, Cowboy Jubilee, etc., and Old Western Gospel music. Russ, Layne, Jay and "Mulee" Pete are my musical heroes. They have helped me grow so much in my music and you couldn't ask to perform with nicer guys. Please check out The Bar G Wranglers at our new Youtube Channel . . . bargwranglers

TO MY FRIENDS AND SUBSCRIBERS:

I have been asked by a few friends to write a short bio of my music. So, here goes . . . I started playing the piano at the age of 4. My mother was my teacher. I then wanted to take up violin at the age of 8. I took two years of classical violin and then changed over to fiddle music for another two years. I learned to improvise and I improvise all of the songs that I play with the group "The Bar G Wranglers". At the age of 11 I started messing around with the guitar. My dad taught me a few chords and then I had my fiddle teacher show me some guitar chords too. My mom turned me on to Chet Atkins on Youtube, and that was it . . . I watched Chet on DVDs and Youtube and learned how to play his style at the age of 12. I am now 13 and expanding my vision for my music. I take singing lessons and I really love to sing folk style music. I still play a lot of Chet Atkins songs and would love to have the time to learn all of them. I am learning so much by watching and listening to the great musicians here on Youtube. It is a valuable resource for me. We will see where the music takes me . . .

Thank you to all on Youtube who have been positively encouraging and advising me. You can also visit me at myspace.com /bluegrassforte and Thebargwranglers.com (videos, photos of live performances coming soon). Hope you enjoy my music . . .
