When Blue was a child, his name was originally John. Three years later after he was born, his parents were killed by outer-galactic soldiers working for a sadistic monster capable of destruction the world has never seen. This monster goes by the name of Red, and remains today as Blue's nemesis. Red took in Blue as a child and decided to raise to become his apprentice. Blue realized that Red was evil and did not give in to his evil ways. Blue fought and killed the outer-galactic army and saved the galaxy. He decided that day to name himself Blue. Red is still out there somewhere, and one day, Blue knows, he will resurface and attempt to destroy the world as we know it.
