Hello everyone.My name is Paula.I am married with two teenage daughters.My eldest daughter is 19 and has a rare terminal illness called Juvenile Huntingtons Disease.She started with this illness around 9 years old.This is degenerative and affects her mentally and physically.As a mother to watch your child lose her mental and physical abilities is heartbreaking.Huntington's disease's most obvious symptoms are abnormal body movements called chorea and a lack of coordination, but it also affects a number of mental abilities and some aspects of behaviour. Physical symptoms occur in a large range of ages, with a mean occurrence in a person's late forties/early fifties. If the age of onset is below 20 years then it is known as Juvenile HD.JHD tends to have stiffness of joints aswell. As there is currently no proven cure, symptoms are managed with various medications and care methods.I gave up work 2 years ago to be her full time carer.
On Wednesday March 23rd 2011 thanks to Make a Wish, Rachel got to meet Westlife before their concert.The lads were lovely and Rachel was so happy.A great memory to last a lifetime.
When I do get time out I enjoy eating out,especially Chinese or Italian food.Trips to the cinema are rare but enjoyed.

Upset that Rachel meeting Westlife slideshow has been blocked : ( I thought it was a good way to show what good work Make a Wish do to terminally ill kids/teens.
