Country style singer/songwriter from Australia. Started playing guitar around December '05, self taught, and started songwriting October '06. Currently president of our local country music association which runs a great Talent Quest near Tamworth (country music capital of Australia) during the Tamworth Country Music Festival, every January. Any amatuer country singers who are coming to Tamworth festival who are interested in entering a great TQ let me know and I'll give you some details.
I also run a Karaoke rig gigging around northwest country NSW. You can catch me at the Court House Hotel, Tamworth, NSW every Wednesday night from 8:30pm, come along for a great night of entertainment!
I grew up with country music, but I'm into most music styles/genres (my first gig singing was with a metal band covering Metallica, Pantera, Sepultura, Machinehead, Slayer and the like!)
Favourite country artists and influences include Gary Allan, Keith Urban, Alan Jackson, Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard. I prefer the *unpolished* "Bakersfield" style of country (eg Gary Allan, Merle Haggard, Dale Watson) over the sometimes *overdressed* "Nashville" sound, simply because it's a more raw style I guess... but it's all good lol!
Keep an eye out for more vids, I'll be posting more original material, and may even throw in a few covers, some with me playing guitar, and maybe some with Karaoke music...
