I struggled valiantly, in all modesty, to get the word out that it was NOT a good idea for the Labour Party to dump its most electorally successful leader OF ALL TIME. Apart from that he was MY Prime Minister! No-one asked me what I thought! He was evidently up against more than just the anti-Iraq war people and the 'feral' press. It was, and probably still is, a struggle for the 'soul' (if it has one) of the Labour Party in Britain.

My blog is still running and has lots of information, pictures, videos, links and articles about the great man.

Can't change the url to 'Bring Back Tony Blair as PM' - sadly. Please visit if you'd like to leave a nice friendly message. If you can't force yourself to be polite there, why don't you pop over to Bin Laden's YouTube video - if it's up there yet? You could send him your love and kisses instead ;0)

Iraq war Inquiry

There is now a new petition set up to support Mr Blair and to try to counter and limit biased press coverage of the evidence at the Iraq War Inquiry, particularly aimed at disparaging Mr Blair.

Please google "Ban Blair-Baiting" and sign the petition.

I'm leaving the Wilson and the Wat comments so you can see the level of intellectual engagement such wallies indulge in. Inspiring, isn't it? NOT.

How can you support this man? Hes a liar a murderrer and a traitor. He sold us a phony war and he sold our country to the americans. Hes an american dog and should be in the same dock as Milosevic. 1 illegal war and 1 uinwinnable war all to appease the americans and grease that "special relationship" that merely consists of us licking our lips every time that americans take their trousers down.

I also am disgusted by all this misinformation the media has circulated. Blair took us to a war that was the right thing to do. Whether there were no WMDs or not I've never doubted that the world is a safer place now than it was Pre-2003. I'm sure if you asked 99% of Iraqis they would say that their life has improved since Hussein's government was toppled. It's a disgrace that Blair seems to be being punished for doing the right thing. I wholeheartedly believe that history will show us what a great man Blair was and will give him the recognition he and his decisions deserve.

Hi 5cot5man.

Well, good luck with Miliband. If he ever becomes PM I hope he has the guts to take difficult foreign policy decisions, as was Tony Blair. Miliband was NOT with Blair on Iraq.

For making the RIGHT decision, Blair is about to be TRIED in public in the "Iraq Inquiry". And without any of the protection of a real trial. I am disgusted with the British press over this. It is THEIR misinformation and dirt raking that has caused this unnecessary inquiry, as I have mentioned in several of my "TRIAL of Tony Blair" posts at the blog.

I can't even consider voting for ANY political party or leader until I am satisfied that the people of this country DESERVE democracy. Right now, reading the Guardian on the Left and on the other side The Mail, I'm not convinced.

Hi BlairSupporter. As always it's great to see someone still waving the Blair banner in a world that seems to have forgotten all his great achievments. On the subject of Labour's future electorally I believe the next logical step is Miliband. He is the only true Blairite in Labour's top tier that could possibly hope to rekindle the flame of support for Labour that Blair inspired. Labour's aim now shoould be to regroup. The conservatives will almost certainly win the next election (unfortunately) and Labour's aim must be to make sure their reign of terror is as short as possible. What did we do to win 1997? We had a confident, charismatic and competent leader who knew what the people wanted and was able to give it to them. We mut do the same now. Miliband has the same charisma, confidence and competency and must pick up where Blair left off. Although asking him to achieve the same levels of excellence as Blair may be unfair to him I believe that he is the only man capable of doing so.

Talia - I wrote a long thank you to you and the stupid YouTube system said there was an error and so it has disappeared. So I'll be quick. Imho, NO-ONE can win for Labour without Blair.

Sorry. Good luck to you.

I remember watching the hand-over from Tony Blair to Gordan Brown. I was only sixteen at the time and although I have grown up being well-informed and enjoying politics, what sixteen year old can really profess to being an expert? I certain couldn't, but I'm pretty good now. Even then I knew that this was going to be a disaster for the Labour Party. Just wondering, who would you back for the next leader of the Labour Party? Personally I would back Johnson, but I would be almost equally enthusiastic about David Miliband. I mean what are your thoughts generally on the current situation for Labour - do you still believe in Labour at all?

Overall, I think there are many of us missing Tony Blair right now...let's hope we find somebody Blairite enough for us for the future!!
