I'm in Dasein-The Academy of ART's student ~ basic foundation and MAJOR on Film and Animation ....

MYTH About Art...! 艺术的迷思

MYTH & FACTs ABOUT ART.

Myth #1: Artists only get famous after their death...
Only rigid minded artist are trapped in their own fantasy of false fame. In reality , art is very much a self intiated
profession. Any artist who is serious about his life & career would be open minded to the rest of the world of self promotion,
networking, even marketing & public relation; and be responsibleto the acknowledgement of his work & life.


Myth #2: Choosing art as a career is for those who are not good at studying in school**
Anyone who's seeking art as an easy way out in life is in for great upset!!! In fact, the profession of art is full of challenges
& exitement. Without the interest for knowledge & curiosity for finding new answers, one would only be limited at replicating cliches of art.

Any masterpiece of art & design would need substantial research & study to develop a fresh point of view & make its own worth. Leonardo Da Vinci,
for example is also an excellent mathematician & inventor.


Myth #3:Artistic talent is inborn and cannot be trained.
Persistence is more important than talent in the education of art. Talent can only give you an early start, but to be sucessful in art , passion
and determinationis more crucial in staying creative in the long run , especially in the lifelong pursuit of art.

As Calvin Coolidge once said, "Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsucessful people
with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverd."


Myth #4: Art has nothing to do with business.
Contrary to popular belief, the operation of any profession in art is just like managing any other business. Like business, running a career in art requires networking
, public relation, self promotion, negotiating contract or even financial planning.
While most people invest in properties & trust funds, Banks, investment companies & bilionaires collect art pieces as investment portfolios. For example, the painting
entitled 'Portrait by Dr.Gachet' by Vincent Van Gough was sold at USD78.1 million in 1990; today worth USD136.1 million.

The great pop artist Andy Warhol never made a clearer statement when he said , "Making money is art and working is art and good business is THE BEST ART!"




The career of art is full of challenges & hard work. It's definitely not an escape route to avoid books & reading.Just like any other courses, studying art
requires loads of research, hard work & practice. The deciding factor lies in your interest & passion for art. Listen to your heart and ask yourself what is
the one thing you would love to do for life, and sucess shal await you......
