Could this be avoided by buying a HD disc player (for a laptop) similar to the "insert here" form BluRay that the ps3 has and hard wiring it into the Xbox? The Xbox OS would still tell the "upgraded slot player" to read the disc correctly, right?

Did you use your land line as the google voice anchor line or a cell line? Sorry if you answered this in the video but I'm just gonna drop my cell plan down to the lowest possible rate plan with no data or texting so that I can just use this for everything else. Best way, or is there a better way?
