This short video is about how learning to surf can be empowering as it can provide a means of making a living. Meanwhile, the surfers more intimate relationship with, and understanding of, their environment and ocean also creates local environmentalism and community activism. This story is about a group of young Ghanaians who are some of the first in their country to surf and how they experience personal growth through a process of economic, environmental, and community empowerment. The video "stars" our very own Frankee, co-owner of Black Star. This is just a promo video to introduce people to the story, we are hoping to someday make a documentary film about these guys, its an amazing story!
