Country: No country, I am a world refugee
Political views: Liberal Democrat
Religious views: Agnostic
Biggest dream: Witness the foundation of Uyghur state (I am ready to give up anything and everything for this cause)
Enemies of Uyghurs according to me: China, Pakistan and to a lesser extent and Central Asian Republics
Chinese are claiming our lands to be theirs, but on what grounds? The overall majority of Chinese believes that Uyghurstan has always been part of China, that Uyghurs have simply migrated to the Chinese domain and assimilated the local population.
1.Yes, Chinese had presence in Uyghurstan, but it was military. Theyve conquered the local people, but they havent colonized the area. They had a light control of region for like a few hundred years and thats it. And this is on what they base their right to rule? Lets offer half of Eurasia to the Mongols then.
2.Even if Uyghurs have migrated to Uyghurstan and mixed with the local Indo-European population, the territory still rightfully belongs to us, because it is their blood which runs through our veins, and therefore it us who the Chinese troops met when they first got to Uyghurstan. Thus, we were there first in any case.
3.Any historian will confirm that we have lived in Uyghurstan for at least a thousand years during which we developed our own distinct culture. Isnt a millennium of history enough for a people to claim the land as their own?
Pakistan is the closest ally of China and regularly sends back Uyghurs who are being tortured and executed.
Uyghurs are not comfortable in Central Asian brother republics either. The authorities of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan keep a watchful eye on Uyghur Diaspora activities. China is offering economical aid and assistance in return for compliance on security issues i.e. repression of local Uyghur communities. Central Asian Republics are willingly selling themselves. Many here advocate Turania and Turkic brotherhood, but thats simply ridiculous. Living myself in Kyrgyzstan, I can surely say that Uyghurs are not welcome in Turkic Republics of Central Asia.
Friends of Uyghurs according to me: The West, Turkey and to a lesser extent India
The West is obviously our ally and any Uyghur who sees the West as a threat to Muslims (us) around the world is simply irrational and foolish. Where are Muslim brothers when we need them most? Does any Muslim country step up for Uyghurs? Turkey supports us on the grounds of ethnic kinship, not because we are Muslim. I am not saying that we should abandon Islam. Absolutely no! Islam is part of our literature, customs and traditions, but we should not care much about Muslims in the Middle East who are not even aware of our existence, not even talking about suffering.
I am thankful for Turkish support, but a country which oppresses its own minorities is a bad candidate for advocating human rights and liberties. I sympathize and feel sorry for Kurds in Turkey who are also being oppressed by the Turkish government. I think Turkey should give up its eastern provinces for the establishment of Kurdish state. Dont misunderstand me, I study in Istanbul and love this place. Turks are warm-hearted and kind people, but the government policies towards Kurds are really intolerable.
