In 2010 Independent Homebirth Midwifery in Australia is scheduled to be illegal!

UPDATE

Further rallys were held in over half the states in Australia today, 9th November 2009.

These were quickly organised in light of proposed ammendments announced last week to the legislation, making further steps backwards for private midwifery & the choices of parents to be across Australia.

[Perhaps with the addition of the 4th September announced 2 year exemption (& constraints) this should now read "In 2010 Independent Homebirth Midwifery, as we currently know it, in Australia is likely to be illegal!" ]

Mother of all birth rallies outside Parliament House, Canberra, AUSTRALIA. 11.30am, 7 September 2009.

We want to retain the right for our children (& their children) to have the choice of a homebirth with an Independent Midwife attending.

This playlist comprises clips from others raising awareness on this fundamental issue.
