I was lucky enough to see ELP perform this (and lots of other classics) at 2010 High Voltage. As you can imagine, they were just amazing.

Fingers crossed for another tour soon.

I think this French club brings out the best in Wilkinson. He is truly a rugby genius and his name is known throughout the world - not just among rugby fans.

Toulon look like a class act in the making too.

This music seems to be both grand and homely at the same time. I love this suite. I love this composer's music.

Taking nothing away from the brilliance of both pieces of music, I've always found the main theme here to be remarkably similar to the song 'Born Free'.

Slower maybe, but nevertheless, similar.

This is very clever and looks like it's taken a lot of preparing.

A beautifully put together sequence. As for whether an individual believes it or not? Fortunately, the mechanisms of evolution do not depend upon belief and will happen regardless of it.

I was there on that Sunday.These chaps are real show-stoppers! Soon as they started playing, you could feel the electricity in the air. Classic after classic song. Felt young again.

I waited 37 years to see them live again. ELP never let you down. Don't stop the show!

This is an excellent version of the first two books. it is a shame that they seemed to have run out of money and had to make 'Helm's deep' a conclusion rather than a step towards victory over Sauron.

Peter Jackson's version is, of course, superb in every possible way, but we shouldn't ignore this...

i bought this when it was first released and just kept playing it over and over again. No other band makes a sound like this.

A great example of a fairly decent film with an outstanding theme. Barry will be badly missed by cinema goers.

Have just watched the DVD.

My favourite part = 'Pictures at an Exhibition', especially 'The Sage', with bits of 'The Old Castle' woven into it.

I too saw this first time around. This, and 'Cosmos' completely changed me as a person and made me want to read more and learn more about everything.

The Nice - unique, exciting, electrifying!

This brilliant theme pounding away as I left the cinema reminded me of being that child who'd just watched his first Bond film ('From Russia With Love' in my case).

The lingering excitement and impatience for more of the same.

I think it's possible that Gimili's mistrust and resentment towards Legolas (in both film and book) might be strong, even for a Dwarf, because Legolas's father, King Thranduil imprisoned Gimili's father, Gloin (The Hobbit). It's personal!

Shown very regularly on British TV when I was a kid. Still brilliant in every respect. With a lesser cast could easily have been rather melodramatic. Moody, passionate and full throttle performances, however, make it stand out as a classic.

Doesn't need Orson's narration though. It adds nothing.

A superb cast and great action sequences. Might seem a little stilted by today's standards, but that's because, unlike today, filmakers assumed audiences would be patient enough to follow the characters' emotional development.

Heston at his best.

I remember this show. I'm sure Bill Oddie made an early appearance on it (as a one-man band?).

This is my favourite scene. The whole Torrente thing is brilliantly funny, original and poignant too.

I watched this in Spain with my GCSE grasp of the language and it's very easy to follow.

Beautifully crafted music. Yearning, vulnerable, questioning.

Great film music - sections seem pretty much the same as 'Gladiator' score though.

'The Nice' and James Last - both absolutely brilliant! Would have been great to see Emerson, Davidson and Jackson perform with Last's orchestra in a huge stadium.

Both bands, however, have to thanks Lalo though for his 'Symphonie Espagnole' for this catchy little piece.
