Did you know that only 7% of directors are women?

Birds Eye View celebrates & supports international women filmmakers, providing a creative platform for talented women working in film.

Founded as a short film event in 2002, we launched the UKs first major womens film festival in 2005, and are now developing year-round activity with our First Weekenders Club, BEV Labs, touring programme and online community.

The Birds Eye View film festival is a groundbreaking event, showcasing exciting new and retrospective work from international women filmmakers. About to enter its 6th year, the next festival takes place 4th -12th MARCH 2010 at leading London Venues BFI Southbank, ICA and the Barbican.

2010's treats will include a sizzling retrospective of iconic blondes, from Marion Davies to Sharon Stone, in partnership with the BFI Southbank and featuring live music to silent film. The contemporary programme features Drew Barrymores critically acclaimed rollergirl derby directorial debut Whip It, starring Ellen Page and Juliette Lewis, plus there will also be films made by women in developing countries, masterclasses with leading directing talent, an innovation programme celebrating ladies on the cusp of new creations, the latest fashion films and music videos, and Birds Eye Views usual sprinkling of celebrity glamour all to be revealed!
