Biochar Engineering designs, develops, and deploys biochar production technology. We are currently beginning to manufacture and sell field-scale units that convert 1/2 ton/hr of woody biomass into biochar, along with process heat. With a strategic partner, we are also developing modular systems that will produce liquid fuels along with biochar at field scale. Our chief scientist is one of the preeminent experts in the world on biomass gasification and charcoal production; our founder has been involved with biochar since 2004; and we are the first to commercialize low-cost direct-contact pyrolysis technology for the potentially $100B biochar production market. BEC will ultimately offer an integrated solution to three of the most critical issues of our time: Climate Change, Soil Fertility & Energy.
