The Bigger Picture Film Festival will be held on September 21, 2009, the UN International Day of Peace.
Inspired by the Peace One Day Organization, the festival's mission is to raise awareness of the International Day of Peace and to inspire young filmmakers to explore issues pertaining to aspects of peace in their films.

The contents of the films must be related to peace, such as humanitarian issues, environmental causes, international cooperation, cultural diversity, and tolerance.
