This is such a beautiful cello concerto and with such an emotional story being the last piece Finzi wrote..I couldnt resist buying it for myself :)..What a great work.This piece definitely deserves more attention as one of the greatest concertos of the 20th century.

Yes D string ending on Swan, the way I learned it! The right way, the tone is wrong when everyone goes to the A string, too bright.

Why so stiff? You look like the cello is crushing you!, you should support the cello more and make the cello come to you not the other way around!!..It just looks more natural...Good playing though.

@KVM69 I know most people put Rostropovich by himself, but it's a personal thing with Shafran..His warm tone makes me love him on any piece...

In my mind Yo Yo Ma, and Dupre are good cellists, but they dont compare to Rostropovich..He is the king of the cello in the 20th century...Pieces were written FOR him, Jaqueline had emotion in her playing, but Rostropovich by far was the best and most talented..

Good job, try and keep a consistent tempo, you kept changing it when you got out of the fast part and inot the slower section..

are you trying to say jacky was better then Rostropovich.....Jacky was good and she made the cello sing, but Rostro played the cello repoitoire over and over and the most difficult stuff made look easy....
