It has come to my attention that the Emergency Preparedness Plans of the counties of the USA are poorly arranged in a manner that is understandable and usable by the people who may be looking for help. Some Red Cross chapters are very far away and difficult to contact during an emergency or post catastrophe. Imagine if you just lost your home, have no food, no shelter, no means of travel, and don't know where your family is. You can't find your papers and don't know where you can find some assistance. Where do you go? What do you do? Who can you call (assuming you have a cell phone that actually works)?
Call or visit your local county and ask for specifics. Some actually have distribution sites, field hospital set-up site plans, and plans for movement of elderly under assisted living care, etc. Sometimes fire departments may be in charge of cooking hot meals for community members in need, etc. KNOW YOUR COUNTY PLAN! DON'T COUNT ON RED CROSS OR FEMA ALONE!

After adding some solar for lights, LED lights to 3/4 of our rooms, changing over to propane range, and (for now) added a hot water timer, we have reduced our electricity usage by 1200/1500 kwh per month.

We currently are setting up our solar cell alternative energy supplies. With 60 watts cells, two Deep cycle marine bats, 1200/2500 w inverter and 7/14 amp regulator, we can keep our freezer going for 11 hrs straight. Next step is to add more cells. Waiting for a sale from harbor freight.

We are looking forward to our second trip to bring much needed supplies to Tuscaloosa Alabama tornado victims. We're proud to be supporting Habitat for Humanity and the fine people of T-town.

Obama needs help spending his campaign money. Click on his online ads, and then ignore him. Help spread HIS wealth around. :-)

Our trip to assist the T-town citizens was a success, but we saw with the damage that the need is very great. We will be taking another trip in the near future.

If anyone lives in Southern Indiana, or Kentuckiana area, Paneras is accepting donations to be shipped to the Tuscaloosa Tornado victims in Alabama. A group of small businesses are working together to support the efforts of We Are T-Town. Go to WeAreTtown.org or like them on facebook for info on needs.
