About this user
When it comes to running for the Supreme Court of Appeals, Beth Walker is not afraid to speak her mind. Like clearly expressing her criticism of activist judges who make up the law rather than strictly following it. Or stating her concern that liberal judges all too often seem willing to ignore the rule of law and instead try to impose their personal agendas on us.Beth Walker combines a clear conservative voice and a passion for judicial fairness and integrity with almost two decades of legal experience. Since beginning the practice of law over 18 years ago at Bowles Rice McDavid Graff & Love LLP, where she is now a partner, she has earned the respect of her clients, colleagues and adversaries.
Beth's legal experience is broad and extensive. She has represented a wide variety of clients in state and federal courts, as well as administrative agecies, throughout West Virginia. She has also provided free legal services for individuals and nonprofit organizations. The excellence of Beths skills as a lawyer have been recognized by her being included in Best Lawyers in America, published by Woodward/White. She is also listed in Americas Leading Lawyers for Business, published by Chambers USA.
A 1987 summa cum laude graduate of Hillsdale College, Beth earned her law degree in 1990 from The Ohio State University, where she was Articles Editor for The Ohio State Law Journal. She currently serves on the Alumni Executive Board of Hillsdale College.
Beth's success goes far beyond the courtroom or boardroom. She's also a devoted wife who is active in her community and church. For almost a decade, she has worked tirelessly on behalf of the Girl Scouts. She is the past board president of the Kanawha Pastoral Counseling Center, which provides faith-based counseling services regardless of an individual's ability to pay.
Beth is committed to a bright future for West Virginia. As a graduate of Leadership West Virginia and now a board member for that group, she believes that we all can contribute to supporting the growth and development of jobs and opportunities in our communities and state.
Beth is married to Mike Walker, Executive Vice President of Cecil I. Walker Machinery Co., a family-owned company that distributes construction equipment. They reside in South Charleston.
